Life on Mercury’s Rich Fessler is joined by Nicole Miller on Theremin to perform A Fast Death in Slow Motion which is about a fictional character from the 1800′s who commits a bank robbery and murder and after he is caught he is sentenced to be hanged. The theremin was the soul of the individual and Rich’s sounds were the cause of death, the rope, the last breath, the fading of consciousness, the brain fading away and slipping into death’s dark grasp. Here’s the story of Samuel “Poker Face” Hayworth…
“On the 1st day of October 1884, Samuel “Poker Face” Hayworth is to be hanged for an attempted bank robbery and the murder of William P. Worthington. Samuel Hayworth was also wanted for committing multiple bank robberies and the possible murder of Jeb Williams. Samuel Hayworth was born on the 17th day of June 1853 and has no known survivors to mention. A brief memorial service will be held at Klas Restaurant.”

IfIHadAHiFi perform live on day 3 of the PRF Auktoberfyst 2011 in the Grand Ballroom of the Klas Restaurant in sunny Cicero, IL on Saturday, October 1st, 2011. In a strange turn of events, the band set up on stage backwards facing the giant bay windows and the crowd outside the ballroom. This of course only could last only for a moment as the proprietors of this fine venue had a few complaints about the sound level from the restaurant next door. Sometimes living in an aquarium is a hard life!
Spelling Bee is a Saint Louis based post-punk/psychedelic/noise rock musical group. They drove their little car up to Chicago and delivered a huge sound. As if a tornado erupted from a ceiling fan, Spelling Bee blasted out a devastating assault of guitar and drums, and had a few running for the basement. But don’t take my word for it, check out the video below, including an encore which the band was forced to play after the crowd would not let the two off the stage. It is surely something to see!
